They started out as a death metal band that had played several gigs in Poland before moving to the United States in 2000 to tour and record with other bands. They released their first album, Nihility, in 2000 and it sold more than 10,000 copies in the US alone. Decapitated has since broken up, but they have left behind an impressive body of work that has inspired many bands who followed in their footsteps
