🎸 After a four-year break following their acclaimed album “Gold & Grey”, the masters of sludge-soaked hard rock, Baroness, are back with a bang! 💥 This summer, they’re set to release a self-produced LP titled “Stone”. 🎵 The band took a month-long retreat to a rented vacation house in Barryville, New York, where they lived and recorded, away from the hustle and bustle of the world. 🏞️

Baroness, despite changes in their lineup over the years, has always managed to maintain a cohesive, unified sound. 🎶 The first single from “Stone”, titled “Last Word”, is a testament to this. It’s a sprawling six-and-a-half-minute song with intricate guitar parts and vocal hooks, yet it rocks on a primal and instinctive level. 🎤🎸

John Baizley, the frontman, shares that the band aimed for simplicity and directness in their music. He believes that the essence of music is to be different and not to conform. With their sixth record, they chose to continue inventing rather than keeping up with their history. The result is “Stone”, an album that is more alive and direct. 🎧🔥
