Judas Priest was an English heavy metal band from Birmingham. They are one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 50 million records sold worldwide.

The Defenders of the Faith is the fifth studio album by Judas Priest which was released in 1984 and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200. The album’s title track is about a man who fights for what he believes in regardless of how difficult it may be. The song “Freewheel Burning” is about a motorcycle gang that robs banks and takes drugs, while “Love Bites” is about a woman who falls in love with someone she knows will end up hurting her.

The heavy metal genre was becoming more popular in the early 1980s. Heavy metal bands had to deal with criticism. Judas Priest, a heavy metal band from England, showed that they were not a one-trick pony by releasing Defenders of the Faith in 1984.
